I’ve been photographing people and places since I was 17 years old and my dad gave me his old Minolta camera to use in my black and white photography class. My brother was the subject of most assignments and they often involved him riding a mini motorcycle around the back yard. Things have changed a bit since then, although I still ask him for his opinion on my work. He plays a much safer role in the process now, and I’ve learned a few things about what you can and should ask others to do when photographing them.

There aren’t many pictures of me, but when you do see one, I have a camera slung over my back. I’m fascinated with this world we live in and have always had a curious nature. I like to see the beauty in things and attempt to capture my view in that moment, because each moment is short and fleeting. I have essentially retired from my portrait session days, although I can still be convinced to shoot a wedding for those special to me, or a senior portrait session, which are my favorite.

My style is authentic and I am firmly in the “art made by people” camp. I absolutely edit my photos to bring them closer to what I actually saw with my own eyes, but I will not drastically change the appearance of an image. How do we improve upon the beauty of a perfect creator?

I love working with individuals who have ideas and opinions on the fine art prints they want for their space. Although we often fail, we continue striving to abide in Him and we’re thankful for his mercy and grace.
